We are all aware that accessories can really make an outfit seem complete. However, be careful not to wear too many accessories and that goes for ladies and gents. You want accessories to add something to your look. Too many necklaces, bracelets, belts and hats can make you look sloppy. What's you guys take on that?
I completely agree! I think using accessories is a talent and it is one that I am lacking. I always admire other's accessories but when I go to do it myself, I struggle. I never know what goes with what...
ReplyDeleteI read somewhere that a poll of men said that they find big earrings on a woman to be a turnoff. I guess maybe they can't nibble on her ears or something like that.
ReplyDeleteMost guys I know think less is more and most even prefer women without makeup and in jeans and a T-Shirt.
Personally I either wear earrings and a watch and thats about it.
Once in awhile I'll put on a necklace but it bothers me to wear one.
But I love to see other women wearing a beautiful necklace and earring set.
I just got home from Jersey -- 'nuff said! I was shopping at a store in a higher end retail area when 3 of the sales associates spent a large amount of time talking about the 5 bracelets on one arm. Mind you I said ONE ARM. That does not include the bounty of necklaces around their necks, the rings on their fingers and the bracelets on the other arm. Too much people. I didn't mind all of the bracelets on one arm, what I minded was they had all of the other stuff, as well. I was totally distracted from the outfit they were wearing because I couldn't see past the bangles!!
ReplyDeleteLol-is there such a thing as too few accessories? That would be me, heck if I didn't leave my top earrings and wedding ring on I would probably forget those :)
ReplyDeleteI agree because accessories will mess an oufit up when too many are worn. People today think they need every color accessorie that matches the outfit. Less is always more, we dont need a hair piece, five necklaces, ten bracelets.. Lol, its just too much.
ReplyDeleteWhat if you don't wear any accessories at all? I tend to wear as little accessories as possible. I concur with Angie on being accessoryless. I'm not completely sure if it's because I don't want to be overaccessorized or I simply don't like jewelry. I can cound on one hand how many pieces of earrings I have and I have five or six watches that I don't even wear. I guess putting everything together is too much of a hassle so I don't even bother. I do try to buy complete outfits when I go shopping, that helps me at least strategize in putting the right amount of articles together without overdoing it. But I think I am definitely a t-shirt and relaxed pair of pants kind of girl.
ReplyDeleteI find myself uncomfortable with a lot of accessories on myself. I have worn the same necklace for four years now but I do change my earrings quite a bit. Bracelets drive me nuts, bangling (yes I made this word up) around and clinking against things. My accessory on my wrist it always a hair tie because you never know when you are going to need one!
ReplyDeleteI love accessories! But, I am with you on the over-use of accessories. In the professional world, I have made mental notes at times of things not to wear. For example, when giving a presentation in front of a group of people, don't wear dangling earrings that move when you talk. We had a lady speaking one day that had a jingly bracelet on. I couldn't tell you what her presentation was about, but I can tell you exactly what her charm bracelet looked like. I also think the same goes for hair and make-up in that setting. Simply put, keep it simple, and people will notice your work, not your accessories.
ReplyDeleteI can soooooo agree with this!! I hate to high heaven when women where dangle earrings bunch of necklaces and 22 bangles on their arm!!! Over kill at its worst
ReplyDeleteIt just drives me crazy to see someone with big earrings and a bulky necklace. You either wear big earrings or a big necklace. You can't do both.
